Drivers Education
Borrow 100% of the cost of your child's college education!
Drivers education, if you or your child attends a public school, is usually offered aside the curriculum taught in the high schools. The driver’s education program generally reimburses the school district for the cost to teach it as a course at the school. The material covers safety, etiquette, road rules, speed limits and laws, drug and alcohol interferences with driving, a driving test and a hand written test. The driver ed program can also be repeated if scores are too low to attain a driver’s license. If a situation arises, such as a home schooled individual seeking a driver’s license, there are local driver’s education school that teach the material and handle the paperwork of determining eligibility. Be sure to research these schools carefully as some are better than others, thereby more closely assuring success upon completion of the drivers courses.
Along with the many drivers ed schools, there are also many online alternatives
to learn the material. At http://www.dmv.org,
you can select your state and either take a course in a classroom, or simply
learn the material online (there is a separate site for teen’s driver
ed courses.) There are supplemental programs available for 35 dollars through
the DMV website. These interactive programs offer simulated road situations
to test your knowledge of the driver’s education. Also available are
practice written tests through the 2 different websites. After learning the
information, go to your local DMV to take the driver’s education written
test and the road test. There is also an eye exam included in the process
to determine eligibility.
